Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how the Whave Water User Management System ("WUMS", "we", "our", or "the System") collects, uses, stores, protects, and discloses information when authorized users access or use WUMS.
1. Information we process
Depending on how WUMS is configured and used, we may process:
- Account information such as name, email address, role, login identifiers, and access permissions.
- Water-user information such as customer or community name, water-user ID/code, phone number, connection type, service status, and geographic service information.
- Billing and payment information such as amounts, payment source, transaction reference, payer contact details supplied by a payment provider, connection-fee records, and transaction dates.
- Water-service information such as consumption or usage records, wallet transactions, and service-management history.
- Technical and security information such as timestamps, audit records, device/browser information, and security logs where generated by the application or hosting environment.
2. Google OAuth and Google user data
WUMS may use Google OAuth / Sign in with Google for authentication. When a user chooses Google sign-in, WUMS may receive basic account information authorized by the user and displayed on Google's consent screen, such as name, email address, profile information, and a Google account identifier.
We use Google user data only to:
- authenticate the user;
- identify or associate the user with an authorized WUMS account;
- provide permitted features of WUMS;
- maintain security, access control, and auditability; and
- support the user when resolving account-access issues.
WUMS does not sell Google user data, does not use Google user data for targeted advertising, and does not transfer Google user data to third parties except where necessary to operate the service, comply with law, protect users or the service, or where the user has provided appropriate authorization.
WUMS's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
3. How we use information
Information processed through WUMS may be used to:
- operate and administer water-user accounts and service records;
- manage billing, payments, connection fees, consumption, and related financial records;
- provide dashboards, summaries, exports, and operational reports;
- send operational or service-related communications where configured;
- protect the security and integrity of WUMS;
- investigate errors, fraud, abuse, or unauthorized access; and
- comply with legal, regulatory, contractual, and audit obligations.
4. Data sharing
We may share information with service providers that support hosting, communications, payment processing, security, backups, analytics, or other infrastructure needed to operate WUMS. Such access should be limited to what is required for those services. We may also disclose information where required by law or necessary to protect legal rights, safety, or system integrity.
5. Data retention
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary for water-service operations, financial record keeping, security, audit, dispute resolution, legal compliance, and other legitimate operational requirements. Retention periods may differ depending on the category of information and applicable requirements.
6. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. No electronic system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
7. User choices and requests
Where applicable, users may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information, subject to legal, operational, security, and record-retention requirements. Users may also stop using Google sign-in or revoke WUMS access through their Google Account permissions.
8. Children's privacy
WUMS is an operational water-management system and is not designed as a consumer service directed to children.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when our practices, features, legal obligations, or integrations change. The current version will be published on this page with an updated effective date.
